Mount Mallumla is part of two former grazing properties that adjoin the Wilderness declared part of Mount Royal National Park, 35 km north east of Singleton in NSWs Upper Hunter Valley. The properties were purchased by Eco Trades in 2007.

A full ecological inventory has recently been completed for this property.

Vegetation Communities
The following vegetation types have been recorded on Mount Mallumla:-

  • Forest Red Gum-Yellow Box Woodland, 31 ha
  • Grey Gum-Yellow Box Woodland & Forest, 411 ha
  • Rough-barked Apple-Grey Gum-Forest Redgum Woodlands & Forest, 398 ha
  • Sydney Blue Gum-Silver-topped Stringybark Forest, 108 ha
  • Sandpaper Fig-Sassafras Riparian Forest, 9 ha
  • Rat’sTail-Weeping Grass derived Grassland, 42 ha

Threatened Species Records
The following threatened species have been recorded on Mount Mallumla:-

  • Hastings River Mouse
  • Spotted-tailed Quoll
  • Koala
  • Yellow-bellied Glider
  • Forest owls
  • Glossy Black-cockatoo

The following threatened species are predicted to occur on Mount Mallumla:-

  • Parma Wallaby and Red-legged Pademelon
  • Giant barred Frog

Conservation Management Activities
The following management activities are either underway or planned:-

  • Fencing out property to restrict access by neighbouring stock
  • Cessation of grazing and firewood/fence post collection
  • Feral Pig and Fox control
  • Weed control
