Crawford River is part of a former 503 hectare grazing property, located adjacent to the Myall Lakes National Park, 10km south of Bulahdelah.
A full ecological inventory is currently being undertaken, This page will be updated once these studies are completed.
The following vegetation types have been recorded on Crawford River:-
- Spotted Gum-Ironbark Open Forest (310 ha)
- Coastal Plains Smooth-barked Apple Forest and Woodland (82 ha)
- Blue Gum-Tallowood-Brushbox Open Forest (64 ha)
- Warm Temperate Rainforest (12 ha)

The following threatened species have been recorded on Crawford River:-
- Grey-headed Flying Fox
- Black-necked Stork
The following threatened fauna species are predicted to occur on Crawford River:-
- Powerful, Sooty and Masked Owls
- Koala, Yellow-bellied Glider and Spotted-tail Quoll
- Parma Wallaby and Red-legged Pademelon
- Stephens Banded and pale-headed Snake
- Giant-barred and Green-thighed Frog
The following threatened flora species are predicted to occur on Crawford River:-
- Tetratheca juncea
- Melaleuca biconvexa and M. groveana
- Angophora inopina
- Grevillea groveana
- Cryptostylis hunteriana
- Cynanchum elegans
Targeted surveys will be undertaken for these species in the appropriate seasonal conditions.
The following management activities are either underway or planned:-
- Cessation of grazing and firewood/fence post collection
- Fencing to keep stock out from adjoining properties.
